About Ashlynn
I’m a construction worker in the Denver area by day and, by night, a self taught student/junior dev/startup founder depending on how you want to define things.
I started my coding journey a little over a year ago when ChatGPT started getting big. I wanted to learn more about how it all worked and took the Machine Learning Specialization course at Coursera where I picked up a little understanding of Python.
From there, I started using ChatGPT to help me build a little Python script for a tool I wanted to use to help me as an indie fiction author. But I didn’t want it to just make it for me. I wanted It to teach me, so I asked questions about the language as I went. I supplemented that with Replit’s 100 Days of Code, and learned about FreeCodeCamp somewhere along the way, where I earned their JavaScript algorithms certification just before they changed it.
Besides trying to finish my LoreBinders application so I can start selling access to it, I’m working on learning DevOps tooling and software architecture, as well as continuing to build on what are basically intermediate level Python skills at this point.
And that little script isn’t so little anymore! It’s a little over 3000 lines of Python, not counting the package I split off and have now uploaded to PyPi, a website in Flask and Jinja, and the API I still need to build to connect the two.
Besides trying to finish my LoreBinders application so I can start selling access to it, I’m working on learning DevOps tooling and software architecture, as well as continuing to build on what are basically intermediate level Python skills at this point.
